Introducing Cedar Ridge Academy Therapeutic Boarding School to the A-Z Challenge Community

Hello there! My co-writer and I will be hosting the A-Z challenge at our therapeutic boarding school. We are located in Roosevelt, Utah, Home of the Sasquatch. Sasquatch culture was a part of the building blocks and because of our "squatch" fanatic science teacher. This is our first time participating in the A-Z challenge, and we are excited to join in the blogging society!

Our theme is going to be Cedar Ridge Academy-our school-and will give insight to our readers about our daily lives. Beginning with Accepting and ending with a Zoom of how fast time flies here. We will have two committees consisting of a total of seven people. Each letter will describe our busy lives here at Cedar Ridge. To give you a better understanding of our environment, we are a co-ed school that helps kids turn their lives around and better prepare themselves for the adult life.

What is Cedar Ridge you may be asking? Well, let me tell you a little more about what goes on here. Each day is structured to give each student the opportunity to grow mentally and gain emotional stability as well as to continue on the track to graduating high school. We live in homes consisting of up to 16 kids and the staff here helps to give us the family appeal. The set routine allows us to accomplish tasks in school as well as branch out socially and grow mentally. Sessions with a therapist occur on a weekly or biweekly basis.

Animals play a huge role in our mental development. Our campus houses goats, llamas, ducks, chickens, rabbits, scorpions, a tarantula, a snake, Buddy (our therapist's adorable mutt), and many other roaming pets. We are responsible for feeding, watering, and cleaning up after their messes. A baby llama was recently added to our extending family.

Physical activities such as sports (basketball, volleyball and karate are a few favorites) and working in the garden outside keeps us physically fit and helps create new neuron pathways in the brain.

I hope our introduction to our family has intrigued you enough to stay in the loop and continue reading up on Cedar Ridge Academy.
